INSCREEN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, BHUBANESWAR

IIFF-2006

It’s film time again in Orissa. The first Inscreen International Film Festival (IIFF) 2006, the first of its kind in Bhubaneswar, is just round the corner. The three-day festival is being organised by Inscreen,
the premier film society of Orissa from July 20 to 22. The main aim of IIFF-2006 is to expose
film lovers of Orissa to a wide range of films made across the world,
besides exposing young local talents to the latest trends in filmmaking. The festivities will include felicitation of participating filmmakers
IIFF-2006 will be the first ever international film festival in Orissa. The festival will have two major sections –
Contemporary
and
Nostalgia.
The contemporary section will have as many as 22 films, including a well-made musical from France.
Nostalgia will showcase eight short classics
from
the
bygone
era.

As the monsoon keeps
everyone drenched outside, inside Jayadev Bhavan, venue of the festival, film buffs will watch and immerse in the waves of light and shadow. Many contemporary filmmakers
will throng the festival and present their films to the Bhubaneswar people.

Each of these films has been included in the festival for thematic power and the message it carries. Selection of these films has been done with care by a committee comprising filmmakers and those with a serious love for the cinematic
art.
